Repair, overhaul, rebuild and assemble a wide variety of plant equipment, including numerically controlled machines and modular assembly equipment, precision-built machines, material handling equipment, and stationary generator sets. Determine and/or develop maintenance procedures when documentation is not available and devise and make tools/equipment to facilitate work. Obtain job assignment from data systems, management or designee. Review work orders, tie-ins, technical manuals, machine operations and communicate with production employees to determine appropriate crafts skills and repairs needed to return machines back to production readiness. Obtain and analyze drawings, sketches, hydraulic schematics and specifications needed to perform assigned work. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance inspections. Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions on all types of factory machinery including, N/C and CNC machine tools and controllers, gearboxes, stationary generator sets, and machine accessories, using various types of test equipment. Check and adjust flatness, level/alignment of machine beds, linear and rotary axis tool and pallet changers. Perform/observe operational check to ensure problem has been corrected. Demonstrate ability to plan and sequence work including ordering required parts and staging necessary tools and equipment. Physical Abilities, Work above (4) foot when required, Rotate Neck, Bend at waist and head, stoop, arch backward, twist, squat, crouch, kneel, and crawl, lie down and operate foot controls. Lift; carry various weights, push/pull, reach, sit, walk, stand, balance, climb stairs, ladders and lifts and mobile equipment. Hand/arm protection, (gloves) and hearing protection (earmuffs and helmets. Successful applicant will be required to pass an on line assessment.
General knowledge of the operation of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pressure and vacuum vessels.
Investigate and resolve problems; devise and implement solutions.
Knowledge of proper use, handling and disposal of hazardous materials per government regulations and Boeing procedures.
Knowledge of safe working practices, emergency procedures and possible dangerous situations.
Mechanical ability, manual dexterity, and hand/eye coordination required to perform various projects, per drawings, sketches, and verbal or written instructions.
Operate man aboard electric stackers in a safe manner.
Operate mechanical lifts of various types (e.g., scissor lifts, elevated work platforms) in a safe manner.
Operate various types of jacks to lift heavy machinery in a safe manner.
Set up and operate conventional optics such as alignment scopes, levels, transits, optical scales, optical squares and laser alignment kits.
Skilled in the selection, set-up and operation of the appropriate tool(s) for a given type of work.
Understand the application of technical documents/information such as machine/equipment manuals and safety documentation.
Use mathematics including practical math, algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
Use various types of floor-mounted power tools (e.g. bandsaw, grinder, drill press, disk sander).
Use various types of hand tools and/or hand-held power tools.
Use various types of precision measuring tools.
Work with others as part of a team which includes giving and receiving feedback, assisting others in completion of tasks; possess interpersonal, listening, and participation skills. Basic Qualifications For Consideration
Do you have experience as a machine repair mechanic or facilities equipment mechanic or manufacturing building systems mechanic?
Do you have experience repairing, overhauling and assembling plant equipment, including numerically controlled machines and modular assembly equipment, precision-built machines, material handling equipment and stationary generator sets?
Do you have experience performing predictive and preventive maintenance inspections?
Are you willing to work all shifts?
Prefer two-year degree, diploma or certificate from an accredited vocational or technical institute ane/or 5-7 years of mechanic related experience
High school graduate or GED preferred.
